Happy Hobbies?

Hi Bloggers welcome back to my blog! This week for Reading we read two articles about hobbies and how they make you happy, after that we read a challenging text about how hobbies can turn into an obsession which they thought was bad. We then had to pick a topic we were going to turn into our create, these were the options:

A top 10 poster about "Hobbies for Happiness"

A how to guide for your favourite hobby

Invent a new hobby

Write an article of fun hobbies to try during lockdown

A poster/video for the most popular hobby in 20 years from now

I chose A top ten poster about hobbies for happiness. I used Canvas info graphic to create my task. Here is my work:

Do you have a hobby?
If so what's you favourite hobby/s?
Do you think being obsessed with a hobby/s is bad?

Numerous Numbers

Hi Bloggers welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be talking about my maths task for this week, this week for maths we learnt about improper fractions/mixed fractions. An fraction/mixed fraction is where you have a whole number and a proper fraction, for e.g 1 & 2/3. Here is my work:

Do you understand what a Improper fraction/mixed fraction is?

Friendly feedback

Hi Bloggers welcome back to my blog! This week for reading we wrote a speech about something that had to do with our PBL question that is How can I be happy and bring happiness to others? I chose to write about how you can't change your character and I disagreed with that. After that we had a buddy that gave us some feedback but I didn't get any so I took a screenshot of what you had to incorporate in your speech. Here is my work:

Highlighted in yellow is my research .
Highlighted also in yellow is my hook.

Highlighted in Red is my Rhetorical question.

What would you write about?

Remarkable Reading

Hi Bloggers welcome back to my Blog! This week for Reading it was a T shaped literacy layout, We've been learning was about growth mindsets & things about Grit and determination. First we had to read a scaffolding text then two complementary texts and a challenging text that challenges the first one. After that we jumped into some tasks.

For our first task we had to pick a goal about what we had just learnt, the goals were: 1. Identify at least one important idea and justify why it is important,  2. make connections between other texts and general knowledge to expand meaning and pose questions, using more sophisticated texts. & 3. identify several ideas, discuss the author's stance or purpose, and understand relationships in the text. I chose the first goal:

Then for our actual Create we had to find a person who showed grit and determination and talk about their mindset, I chose Nelson Mandela, he definitely had a Growth Mindset because whenever he got put down he always got up again and tried his hardest. After that we had to make a DLO about our biggest take away we had around mindsets. This is my Create:

Who's someone in your life that has shown Grit?

Gracious Grit

Hi bloggers welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be talking about a Grit task I had a few weeks ago, a few weeks ago in my kaiako manaaki we had to pick a person who inspires us and who showed grit, perseverance and strength. We had to create a blurb about how they showed grit. I chose to do Martin Luther King JR. Here is my work:

Who inspires you?

My Persuasive Writing

Hi Bloggers Welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be talking about my Persuasive Writing  that I did this week, this week for writing we either got to fix our writing last week or write a new one. I chose to fix my one up, we had to highlight the hook & opening statement green, the three ideas/paragraph yellow & a rhetorical question in red. Here is my work:

Do you agree with my statement?

My waves

Hi bloggers, welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be talking bout my reading task, this week we have been reading t-shape literacy. The texts we read are: Whare tapa wha, inner peace for outer peace & Money Buys More Happiness, Even For The Rich.

Those texts talked about the four walls, spiritual, social, physical & mental. We had to draw something that makes us feel peaceful & happy, the wall I feel that needs work on for me is my spiritual health because I don't pray to God as often anymore but I do try to. Here is my work:

I chose to draw a wave because that's when I feel most peaceful and content.

Peacefulness feels to me like weightless like no worry's & it's like you don't feel any emotion.

What makes you peaceful?
